NORTHERN TRUST PUTS PLANS FOR KINGSWAY VILLAGE GARDEN ONLINE
6th May 2011
Plans for the former Pontin’s site in Hemsby have been unveiled by Northern Trust, through a dedicated development website.
The recently submitted planning application, for the development named Kingsway Village Garden, has been formally accepted by the Great Yarmouth Council and can be viewed at the council’s planning office. Northern Trust has set up a dedicated website at www.kingswayvillagegarden.co.uk , enabling people to view the proposals and plans.
The website features artist’s impressions of how the site will look and includes layout plans and an email address for anyone with questions about the scheme.
The outline planning application aims to provide a variety of facilities and benefits to the local community including 191 new family homes, with a proportion of affordable housing and starter homes, in addition to the provision of a care home. If successful, the plans will regenerate the ageing site creating an improved environment for site neighbours with public open spaces and extensive landscaping a key feature.
Plans for a substantial investment fund to support local tourism has been put forward by Northern Trust with the company keen to hear views from businesses and the community as to how the fund should be administered.
A spokesperson for Northern Trust said: “We know there is a great deal of interest in our proposals so the launch of the Kingsway Village Garden website will make it simple for people to view the plans. We hope the website will encourage residents and businesses to get in touch with their suggestions for the fund and continue to facilitate a valuable dialogue between us and the local community.”
Northern Trust expects the plans to be determined by Great Yarmouth Council at a development control committee meeting towards the end of summer.
